Hi everyone; thank you for your interest! Commission and For Sale paintings come to you unframed. This is so that I can keep my prices low, and it also saves on shipping costs. Any reputable framer in your area should be able to frame your artwork just the way you want it. Just make sure they have experience framing pastel art, since it can smudge if not handled carefully. Once framed, a pastel painting will last as long as any oil painting.

Your pet portrait can be as basic as a Head and Shoulders with a solid backround to a full body with complex back- round. Don't be shy about communicating to me what you actually want. The size of the painting, the complexity, where it will hang, the final price, are all important considerations for us to discuss.

I can work from one or more of your good quality photos. If you live locally I might be able to take my own photos of your pet for an additional charge, if you desire.

Once I have your photos and we have discussed your options, I will begin the painting as soon as I have received from you a 20% downpayment. This is non-refundable. Once I finish the portrait, and you are satisfied (and I hope excited!), you can send the remaining amount, plus sales tax (if applicable) and shipping, and I will send you your portrait. If you have questions at any time in the process, please let me know. Thanks so much! Mike Stockwell.
